Lake County Judicial Center – commissioning services
Project Summary
Hanson was selected as the Commissioning Authority for this multi-phased, multi-building project. Hanson’s commissioning services, in conformance with ASHRAE guidelines, meet the U.S. Green Building Council requirements for LEED® prerequisite and enhanced commissioning.
The center’s design incorporates sustainable features and energy efficient systems. The owner will pursue LEED® certification for the property appraiser and tax collector building. The court facility will incorporate energy efficient systems and sustainable features but will not officially pursue LEED® certification.
The project includes a 120,000-square-foot renovation of the existing courthouse and a 250,000-square-foot expansion for the judicial facility. The expanded center also has a new 11,000-square-foot central energy plant — including chillers and boilers — to service all of the government facilities on the north side of downtown Tavares; a new two-story office building, housing the property appraiser and tax collector offices; and a new multi-story parking deck.
