Hanson Earns ANAB Accreditation
Hanson holds ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation from the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides accreditation services to public- and private-sector organizations. ANAB is jointly owned by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ). ANAB accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020 allows organizations to demonstrate integrity, reliability and technical competence as well as compliance with internationally recognized good practices.
According to the ANAB, Hanson meets the requirements of international standard ISO/IEC 17020: 2012 and demonstrates technical competence in performing inspections.
Hanson’s scope of accreditation applies to its role as an inspector of precast concrete manufacturing plants. The ISO/IEC 17020 validates Hanson’s competence to audit and issue (or withdraw) certification attesting that an organization, product or person meets the requirements of a standard or other requirements.
Since 2008, Hanson has been conducting quality assurance audits for the National Precast Concrete Association. NPCA certification often is needed for plants to supply materials to entities such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Department of Transportation and state DOTs, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, various public works and municipalities.
