Safranski celebrates 15 years at Hanson’s headquarters
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Elizabeth Safranski, a traffic modeler at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters, recently celebrated 15 years of service at the firm.
Safranski, who joined Hanson in 2006, has prepared traffic and travel-demand models for transportation projects, including an environmental impact statement for high-speed rail, the Capitol Avenue streetscape design and beautification, the Stanford Avenue extension and the Interstate 55 reconstruction and widening, all in Springfield; a roadway study for the Illinois Tollway’s Tri-State Tollway (Interstate 294) in the Chicago area; improvements to Washington Street in Peoria; and the Interstate 74 Mississippi River bridge replacement from Moline to Bettendorf, Iowa. She also created a regional travel-demand model for the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, which comprises Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties. Safranski also has prepared traffic noise models for projects including the I-55 reconstruction and widening, the Iron Bridge Road realignment in Springfield and interchange updates for Irene Road on Interstate 90 in Boone County.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 2006 from Millikin University.
