Hanson hires Folkerts as chief financial officer

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Ronda Folkerts has joined Hanson Professional Services Inc. as chief financial officer as Jo Ellen Keim, CPA, transitions into retirement.

“Jo has done an outstanding job during her 23 years with us,” Sergio “Satch” Pecori, P.E., Hanson’s chairman and CEO, said. “She was our first CFO, and her financial leadership has helped us grow from a small engineering firm into the strong consultancy we are today. Jo is looking forward to spending more time with her family and grandchildren.”

Keim joined the company in 1995 as director of the corporate services division. She was elected a vice president and corporate treasurer in 1998, chief financial officer in 2000, senior vice president in 2005 and executive vice president in 2014.

Before joining Hanson, Folkerts worked for H. D. Smith for 15 years, most recently as corporate vice president of finance. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois State University, is treasurer of the Lincoln Land Community College Foundation board of directors and serves on the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln’s Audit Committee.

Folkerts will oversee Hanson’s financial operations, including accounting; financial reporting; budget preparation; federal, state and local tax reporting; and the treasury function.

“Ronda has extensive experience in the areas of finance, accounting and strategic planning, and she’ll be a great addition to our executive team,” Pecori said.

Hanson is a national, employee-owned consulting firm providing engineering, planning and allied services. The firm’s corporate headquarters is located at 1525 S. Sixth St., Springfield, IL 62703. The office may be reached by phone at (217) 788-2450.
