Hanson’s Moll and Whalen receive promotions
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Hanson’s board of directors recently named Jim Moll, P.E., and Dan Whalen, P.E., as vice presidents. Both previously served as assistant vice presidents. Whalen also was appointed the market principal of energy and industry services.
Moll, a project manager, joined the firm in 1980. His experience includes working on a variety of civil engineering projects from designing bridges and highways to railroad and wastewater treatment facilities. He also has extensive experience in public involvement initiatives, working as a liaison between design teams and the public. Moll has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, both from Purdue University.
Whalen has nearly 30 years of engineering experience. As market principal of energy and industry services, he manages Hanson’s resources to assist clients with their power generation, manufacturing and waste management needs, providing feasibility studies, planning, design and regulatory compliance services. Whalen oversees consulting projects worldwide, with recent energy and industry projects in Qatar, Nigeria and Panama. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
