Emerging technologies will play an important role in Florida’s aviation future. New markets and opportunities are finding their way into many airports’ short- and long-term planning strategies. As electrification and other technologies progress, how will your airport be best positioned to support these new aircraft and develop the infrastructure needed to thrive?
At the final session of the Florida Airports Council Annual Conference & Exposition, held just before the closing awards luncheon Aug. 14, Hanson will moderate one of the most comprehensive sessions to date on this subject. Charles “Chip” Snowden, AAE, CFM, will lead the discussion, supported by a panel of experts in the fields of electrification and advanced air mobility (AAM). The panelists will include Crystal Stiles of Florida Power & Light, Matthew Land of Eve Air Mobility and Phil Brady of Skyports.
This session will feature a general overview of the state of the industry. Each panelist will offer their perspective on the future of this important advance in aviation, with a discussion about the Federal Aviation Administration review process, electrical and other infrastructure needs and estimated time frames for development. Panelists will also talk about what airport leaders should do to start planning for the wave of technology coming to airports and communities.
In addition, information will be provided about the Airport Cooperative Research Program Research Report 260: Airport Energy Resiliency Roadmap. This document, with Hanson as its lead author, was published in June 2024.
If you are interested in keeping your airport informed about the latest developments in energy resiliency, AAM and urban air mobility, we hope to see you at this session.
